STUDENTS SHINE IN OUR UNIQUE PROGRAM FOR ASPIRING PERFORMERS

Join A vibrant community and experience the power of a supportive TEAM

Why Join Leap

Leap is more than a dance studio — it’s a training environment with purpose.

We develop dancers through:

  • progressive, levelled training
  • intentional choreography and rehearsal systems
  • a culture rooted in respect, accountability, and connection

Our educators are experienced professionals who guide dancers with clarity, care, and high standards — ensuring every dancer is challenged, supported, and seen.

Performance & Opportunities

Leap dancers perform beyond the studio at:

  • competitions and festivals
  • community and arts events
  • specialized workshops and intensives

Our dancers have trained and performed in New York and Los Angeles, from Radio City Music Hall to Disneyland — with future opportunities ahead. Check out our Travel page for upcoming trips!

Our Approach

We don’t just teach choreography.

We teach dancers:

  • how movement works
  • where it comes from
  • how to apply it with intention

Through structured technique, creative exploration, and performance experience, dancers build:

  • strength and control
  • musicality and artistry
  • confidence and presence

Every dancer contributes. Every dancer grows.

A Team Experience That Matters

At Leap, dancers learn to:

  • commit to their training
  • support one another
  • take pride in their progress

This is where discipline meets creativity, and where dancers develop the skills to move confidently — on stage and beyond.

Take the Leap

Join a program where expectations are clear, training is meaningful, and every step forward is earned and nurtured with great care, respect, and integrity.

Leap Studios has two divisions in our dance team program:

part-time competitive & performance

part-time competitive & performance

part-time competitive & performance

A fun way to experience performing and competition for students training less than 6 hours per week. Fewer required classes than the Company competitive team, great for students of all ages and experience levels who want to keep their commitments lower and their schedules more flexible.

  • NEW! Spotlight Jazz Ages 6-8 Team and Ages 9-12 Team: 1 Jazz Tech, 1 Jazz Choreo. Back to back classes mean 1 night per week! Attend one local dance competition plus our Team Showcase (March 15) and Year End Recital (June 13).

  • Hours of commitment per week range from 1.5 - 5 hours per week, depending on how much you want to do!

  • Solos, duets, and/or trios may be offered to students in 2 or more group routines

This tier of dance education and experience is best suited for dancers who are self-motivated and dedicated to focusing on dance as their primary activity outside of school. Students in this program are interested in challenging themselves and working alongside teammates in the long term to develop their artistry and abilities together, and enjoy learning from different educators within the studio and out in the dance education community.

  • Students take 6 or more classes per week
  • Perform choreographed routines at 3 dance competitions in Alberta plus 3 or 4 local events (optional) and our year end studio recital.
  • Choreography rehearsed separately: maximum two Saturdays or Sundays per month from September to February and never on long weekends and school breaks.
  • Hours of commitment per week are 6 or more hours for junior dancers, and up to 10 hours per week or more for teen and senior dancers.
  • Company dancers may compete in Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Street Dance (Hip Hop), Pom, Tap, Musical Theatre, or Acro, based on the classes they are enrolled in and at the discretion of the Director.
  • Solos, duets, and/or trios may be offered to students in 2 or more group routines
