Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Madison began dancing at the age of four and instantly fell in love with it. Eventually her passion for dance led her to the Young Canadians where she auditioned, trained and performed for the yearly Grandstand show at the Calgary Stampede for three years in a row.
Following this Madi decided to dive into the world of dance competitions and ADAPT and RAD exams for the first time at age twelve and continued to compete and train at an elite level until her graduation in 2018. Madi knew she wanted to continue her dance training following high school, so she took the “leap” and moved to Vancouver where she spent five years dancing professionally, auditioning, teaching, and cultivating her craft.
During her time in BC Madi completed the Intensive Training Program at Harbour Dance Centre where learned first hand from a plethora of industry leaders, performed in two music videos, and went on to train and compete with two advanced Hip Hop teams at Studio North Dance Complex.
While in Vancouver, Madi found her voice in teaching dance and re-defined her philosophy behind why she teaches. Madi believes dance is more than just learning steps, it is also about learning life lessons that will springboard students into becoming not just great dancers, but great humans. Madi strives to make sure that when her students walk through the door they feel that no matter the reasoning behind why they choose to dance, or what they aspire to reach in dance, they are welcome and supported.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Leap Studios!
I love being able to inspire people in their daily lives, make them smile and feel lighter…I’ll be your guide into the wonderful world of dance and movement here at Leap!
I started Leap in 2013 when my daughters were 2 and 5 years of age.
As someone who grew up dancing all styles of dance and competed for over 10 years as a youth, I was inspired to build a studio where kids could have the same opportunities as I did, and benefit from a welcoming environment that puts the dancer first. I wasn't finding that same balance of keeping kids "kids-first" and able to have proper time for their family, school, and friends that I had experienced - but also, have come to know additionally through academic research and leadership experience, is important for the mental, physical, and social health of developing young children into healthy adulthood.
My reason for building the Leap community is to do what it takes to make the dance industry better - for your children and mine, and the children who will follow. It was a "leap of faith" to do something different from what the market was offering, to seek out the industry's most stringent and highest standards of excellence for teaching children and youth and making those the standards of Leap! We don't just coach dance - first and foremost, we coach kids - that's why we hold ourselves to the highest standards.
I thank you for entrusting Leap Studios with the education and experiences your child will have with dance. I promise we will take great care of them, and will provide a nurturing and rewarding community for them and your family for all the years of your involvement in our studio. I love dance because of the body awareness and mood-boosting benefits it can provide- and it has stayed part of my "tool kit" into adulthood and I have life long friendships developed through dance - and I hope that is the case for every dancer at Leap. We are glad you're here!
-Miss Jill
